Give your child a head start into the world of Literature this school holiday!   

We will be organising a P6 Literature Bridging Programme for our current P6 students, as well as 
your family and friends. The programme aims to equip students with the necessary skills in analysing 
literature texts, critical thinking and writing, needed in Secondary 1 next year.  

Topics that will be covered include:

➢ Shakespearean Plays: Excerpts defining setting, characterisation, themes and literary devices in ‘The Merchant of Venice (Comedy)’. 

➢ Prose / Novels: Excerpts defining setting, atmosphere / mood, characterisation and themes in ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’, ‘Sense of Belonging’ and other prose extracts.

  
➢ Poems: Selected poems featuring a range of literary devices and themes.

  
➢ Literature question answering techniques: Students will learn the format and techniques of answering literature essay questions.

There will be 2 sessions of the programme for you to choose from. The dates are as follows:  

Session 1 (1.5h x 8 = 12h) 
Date: Oct 21, 24, 28, Nov 4, 7, 11, 14, 18 (Tue & Fri) 
Time: 2.30 pm – 4 pm  

Session 2 (2h x 6 = 12h) 
Date: Dec 1 - 6 (Mon-Sat) 
Time: 10.30 am – 12.30 pm  

Fees: $540
